The technology of Divesonic is supported
by many patents and field tests.
Speaker unit
- Speaker unit that withstands great water pressure
To create sound, our biggest challenge was how to get the sound source to
vibrate under water pressure.
Highly efficient products for the professional-use of underwater loudspeakers
are available, but these apparatus need to be run at a high voltage to overcome
great water pressure.
Most of these products are driven using large power from an underwater power
source.
To obtain sufficient sound volume, it was necessary to build a large apparatus,
and there were problems that discouraged general use, such as shock hazard.
Divesonic has successfully overcome these problems by developing a structure
that generates acoustic waves even in difficult underwater conditions with a
super high-efficient sound generating unit.
- High-efficiency and prolonged operation
Even apparatus with outstanding performance is of no use in the field if the
batteries have to be changed for every dive.
With Divetalk, sounds can be generated for 4 consecutive hours with 8 AA alkaline
batteries. (*Note 1)
In actual use, the apparatus is only switched on when the diver talks; therefore,
it can be used more than 24 times in a 10-min. dive.
Also, an LED will flash to report battery drain. (*Note 1: For situations where
signal sound continues to be generated 5m below the surface.)
- It is tough enough to operate under a low-voltage condition.
As it has a wide range of operating voltage, rechargeable batteries such as
a nickel cadmium battery and nickel hydride battery can be used, in addition
to the alkaline AA cell type, which are freely available. In addition, it is
designed considering the actual conditions in which it will be used, and thus
it contains a high temperature protection circuit and maximum input and output
protection circuit.
- Powerful signal sound
Pressing the button on the left generates the signal
sound. It can even be heard 50m away.
- Six level volume control
Taking into account the proximity of other divers
and environmental concerns, the minimum volume to be used has been set for divers
in close proximity.
Microphone
- It's amazing to talk under water
We have developed a mask-mike which allows natural talking and breathing at
the same time. It does not place strain on the teeth because it does not have
a mouthpiece.
The mask shape was designed after hundreds of field tests.
- Acoustic feedback reduced to a minimum level
Acoustic feedback tends to occur more in water than in the air.
The problem increases as the microphone and speaker become more sophisticated.
Divetalk's new technology has successfully reduced this problem. It has realized
sound output in megavolume with a minimum acoustic feedback while the microphone
picks up voice.
* It is compatible with a full-face mask (Mantis full-face/Aga full-face). (An
adaptor will be available in* the near future) |
